Project 5: Design Week 2 “Facial Expression and Cloth movement”

March 31, 2010

I would like to have the statue to have a neutral or peaceful facial expression. In the game, she is looking up with her mouth slightly open. I want to do something sort of the same but with her mouth closed. Something maybe like the images below?

To have the shawl or long length of cloth that she drapes around her, I want to raise her left hand up higher so that the cloth creates more of a spiraling action. This way the viewer’s eye can travel around the body and back.

  1. OK, you got the pieces and parts, but you have to sew them together. Take the face from the stock photo and superimpose it onto your statue drawings. Take images of cloth and drape them onto your drawings. Montage an image from photographs. Warp, paint, whatever to force it into your design.
Or, get some bed sheet and a tall friend and have her pose as the statue.
Definitely get these drawings done asap so that you can show the designs to people for feedback. Don’t leave them guessing–show them specifics!
