Project 5: Inspirational Works
February 10, 2010I would really like to integrate fine arts into my animations. My inspiration for using watercolor comes from an artist that is popular on deviantart. She may not be well known but the way she draws and paints her characters with ink and watercolor are really beautiful.

My attempts at watercolor have been fairly poor. I would love to experiment with it more.
Below is a video from ThirdSeventh from cgtalk.com, My computer animation teacher showed this to us and I fell in love with it. I’m learning how to model and can’t wait to get into texturing. I find realistic cgs to be jaw-droping and highly inspirational! Under the video is a link to the thread on CGtalk.

Whenever I need something inspirational related to animation, I watch pixar movies! Pixar is a huge inspiration to me. Their shorts and movies are almost always adorable and I always get the feeling to draw something awsome cute. Below is the Partly Cloudly Short. I think it’s on a foreign website.

The Third & The Seventh is inspirational… I loved reading the posts from people who insisted it was photography.
I like the idea of watercolor… but show us some specific pieces… which ones do you like specifically?
